Blending a light, streamlined shape with road-ready protection, Louis Garneau's Heros RTR Helmet makes an enviable upgrade to your road kit for the coming season. Starting with In-Mold construction, Garneau fuses an outer shell to an EPS foam inner layer, creating a one-piece barrier with greater structural integrity. In-Mold construction is nothing new in helmet design, but Garneau sets the Heros RTR apart from similar offerings by adding proprietary technology to it. This includes its Super MSB, an additional, reinforcing ring that strengthens the helmet's perimeter and makes it less vulnerable when experiencing impact. Super MSB pairs with a secondary inner nerve with the same goal, establishing a sound structure on the inside and outside of the helmet in the event of a crash. Since you'll be spending the duration of every ride in this helmet, save for a few races when you switch to an aero helmet perhaps, we'd argue that comfort is almost as important as safety. Thankfully, Garneau agrees with us, and it carved out space for 22 vents in the Heros RTR to keep cooling air moving through the helmet as you ride. A helmet won't be protect to the best of its ability if it doesn't properly fit your head, and on the Heros RTR, Garneau's Spiderlock 4D fit system uses a durable round dial and flexible plastic cage to allow you to make as many micro-adjustments as you need to get a secure fit without feeling restricted. Adjustable straps and removable X-Static anti-odor padding round out the comfort features of the Herso RTR, and as one last thought towards safety, Garneau prints the entire bottom half of the helmet with reflective ink to keep you visible on the road at all hours.
